About tattoos? are the good or bad? What does scripture say?

I believe there is something in the old testament about putting "marks on your body" like the heathen nations, but I'm not sure the scripture.

personally, I like tatts and have many friends who have them. I don't think they are going to send you to hell. my wife really wants one and I think they are cool.

same goes for piercings.

I think people put too much emphasis in what is wrong on the outside without taking a look at what's on the inside.

i know the Bible says "do not mark yourselves for the dead." that rules out the Jimi Hendrix tattoo i was planning on.

well, if "your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit..." then wouldn't getting a tattoo be like painting a mural on a church?

sub question - would a Christian tattoo be ok, you know, like the biker guys get at my church? or would it be okay to get, say, an anime girl or something cool?

i think they're fine... just make sure you and your tattoo artist pray beforehand.

I like tatoos. I would most likely never get one, but I have my eyebrow pierced and I love it.
