This just came to me:


Can the Holy Spirit leave you? John 14:16 - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.
Jesus also said."I will be with you always, even unto the end of the world.
But 1st let me state that the phrase "that he
may abide with you for ever" is not He WILL abide with you
forever. The word MAY leaves the possibility that He won't.



Matt. 28:20 - Jesus said, "teaching them to observe all things
that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even
to the end of the age." ~ Note: The key is to observe His
commands, then He is with us always, but we can't rebel
against God and honestly think we're still going to heaven.
That would be living in a dreamworld, and not according to the
truth.

Do not quench the Spirit - 1 Thes. 5:19. Basically that means
do not resist His influence in your life. That's a fundamental
rule of walking with God. The word "quench" also means "to
extinguish, to go out, to suppress of divine influence." It's
the same word for the Foolish Virgins' lamps "going out" in
Matthew 25:8. The lamps had the oil, and the oil is symbolic
of the Holy Spirit.

Revelation 2:5 - "Remember therefore from where you have
fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to
you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place -- unless
you repent. ~ Note: Surely, this is a threat from Christ to
His church with the words or else. The word "its" in "remove
your lampstand from its place" is "his" in the KJV. I believe
this is symbolic of the person of the Holy Spirit. So this is
Christ taking away the Holy Spirit from a Christian = loss of
salvation.

Revelation 3:1-5 - ..."I know your works, that you have a name
that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and
strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for
I have not found your works perfect before My God. Remember
therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and
repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you
as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon
you. Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis who have not
defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white,
for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in
white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book
of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and
before His angels." ~ Note: These people had the name of being
a Christian thinking they had eternal life, but they had
become spiritually dead. Some had the chance to live because
He says they were only ready to die. The term "ready to die"
is of eternal death. They are subject to eternal misery in
hell. They were not living the life of how they first received
the word. They had defiled their garments (by sin) and needed
to overcome this to be worthy enough to eventually walk with
Christ in white garments; or else He will blot out their name
from the Book of Life. The word "defiled" is used in the NT of
those who have not kept themselves pure from the defilement of
sin, who have soiled themselves by fornication and adultery.
You must overcome and conquer sin if you fell back into the
bondage of it. Repent and turn back to God for help.

Psalm 51:10,11 - Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew
a steadfast spirit within me. DO NOT CAST ME AWAY from Your
presence, AND DO NOT TAKE YOUR HOLY SPIRIT FROM ME. ~ Note:
David knew eternal security was not true, that's why he prayed
this. This Psalm is a prayer of repentance, because David had
gone in to Bathsheba and he knew that he wasn't right with
God. It's about salvation because the next verse inclines that
he had no joy of God's salvation. The words "renew" and
"restore" indicate a loss of. If we don't repent and respond
to God correctly, this Psalm implies that God will take the
Holy Spirit from us. I don't think God put this in His word
just to scare us if it doesn't really happen.
